The move from West LA to 11661 San Vicente in Brentwood was nerve-wracking but well-worth it. The new space has a much better floor plan and high ceilings. Also, we had 5 years of experience to guide us for interior design. Aside from a few minor hiccups (phones and internet, for instance), everything is fully functional. After the move and unpacking last Sunday and Monday, we were seeing clients on Tuesday. Scheduling is proceeding as before. Please peruse a few of the photos we took this week.

Celebrity Laser Spa will be starting a new medically-supervised weight-loss program in April. The program will treat obesity and over-weight with a combination of diet, exercise, meal-replacement, appetite suppression, and counseling. Stay tuned for announcements and specials in the coming days.
This has been long in the making but TMD Medispa is becoming….Celebrity Laser Spa! All our staff and services are staying the same. We are re-branding ourselves to emphasize the celebrity-level skin treatments we offer. When you come to Celebrity Laser Spa, YOU are the Celebrity and you will be treated like one. Check out celebritylaserspa.com, which we just rolled out. We will be gradually transitioning over to the new website.
Due to popular demand, TMD Medispa is expanding our hours. Starting in January, we will be open from 10 am until 8 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Fridays and Saturdays will remain 10 to 6. We hope that this schedule will accommodate more people that are free only in the evenings. We will be performing Fraxel and all our other services during these new hours.

Dysport is a botulinum toxin A, recently FDA-approved for cosmetic treatment, and is similar to Botox. Dysport is made by Medicis and Botox by Allergan. Although they appear to be similar, starting in late December, we plan to offer both to give our patients more choices.
Restylane was the first hyaluronic acid that was FDA-approved for cosmetic use in the US. In an effort to provider more choices to our patients, we will also be carrying Restylane. Between Juvederm, Restylane, and Radiesse, we think that our patients will appreciate having more options.
Stay tuned until mid-December when we plan to roll out Dysport and Restylane!
TMD Medispa now carries .4 ml Juvederm syringes. The standard size of Juvederm is .8 ml and is a sufficient amount to treat nasolabial folds. Enough may be left over after treatment to allow for a little lip augmentation as well. Or the whole syringe could be used for lips alone. The advantage of the .4 ml syringe is the ability to use a smaller amount of filler for certain areas, such as subtle lip augmentation or treating marionette lines (next to the chin). It’s also excellent for touch-ups when you don’t wish to purchase a full .8 ml syringe.
Due to it’s smaller size, the .4 ml syringe is priced at $350 vs. the .8 ml syringe, priced at $550. For those of you that have never tried injectable hyaluronic acid fillers before but have been thinking about it, the .4 ml syringe of Juvederm is an excellent way to give it a try. As the holiday season comes around, many of us start thinking about what we can do to look our best. This may mean getting some special clothes, hair styles, or cosmetic treatments. When considering rejuvenating or enhancing cosmetic treatments, timing is crucial. For instance, Botox lasts 3 months and doesn’t take full effect for 1 week. So, there’s no rush to get it for a special occasion that is 3 months away, but you should give it at least a week, and possibly more if you are prone to bruising. Other injectable treatments, such as Juvederm and Radiesse, have instant results but may have some swelling or bruising that takes a few days to resolve. Fraxel, should be done at least 2 weeks prior to a an engagement since there may be some redness or roughness to the skin after treatment. Laser tattoo removal requires multiple treatments, so timing is not that important. Chemical peels are variable but at least a week should be allowed. Other esthetician treatments, such as facials and microdermabrasion are less invasive and a day may suffice, depending on the treatment.
